MEET THE TEACHER BEHIND SPEDWAYS
Hello,
I’m Shelley.
A special education teacher. A resource maker.
A believer in the power of small breakthroughs.
I teach in an SLC-ALT classroom, working with autistic students. I create visual PDF resources and look for practical ways to make learning accessible to students with different communication and support needs.
SpedWays is a home for those resources and for the classroom “aha” moments that make us pause, rethink, and try something new. It’s a space to share ideas with other special education teachers, one useful tool and one thoughtful reflection at a time.
Step into the resource cupboardMake it visible.
Clear pictures, manageable choices, and room to respond in different ways.
Make it meaningful.
Practical activities connected to participation, learning, and everyday routines.
Keep noticing.
Look closely at what learners show us. Use that information to plan the next step.
Where learning takes off…
Every learner’s path is different. Use resources alongside the student’s IEP, established communication supports, and your professional judgment. SpedWays is an independent educator project.
